Libya (Libby) was a sweet surprise for us. Her mother, Kenia, was unknowingly pregnant after coming to us from the NM Livestock Board as one of four estrays found abandoned near Cuba, NM. After arriving, Kenia started to show her pregnancy, and soon thereafter, Libby was born. She was adopted in 2023, and due to no fault of her own, was recently returned to us.
Libby is a friendly and affectionate, “in-your-pocket” mare. She greets any human who passes by, gets along well with the other mares and geldings in her pen, and has even helped some of our more cautious horses come out of their shell.
Libby has good ground manners and does round pen work, standing for the farrier and trailering very well. She has some training under saddle but our trainers have not yet fully assessed her.
