Sweet Kenia is one of four estrays who were among a large herd abandoned by the Continental Divide near Cuba, NM in 2020. As an added bonus, Kenia surprised us by being pregnant and safely gave birth to a sweet filly in 2021.
Kenia has come a long way in building her trust with humans. She is full of personality but can still be cautious around new people. Once you earn her trust, she becomes very focused on you for direction and protection. Kenia learns quickly, but also has a stubborn streak. She needs a handler who can be both gentle and firm. She tends to spook at the unexpected, but quickly regains her confidence. Kenia loads into the trailer with only a little encouragement, although she will turn around once in. She lunges well on a lead-line at all gaits and is greatly improving with the in-hand obstacles as her confidence improves. Kenia does best with a single handler and has the potential to be that once-in-a-lifetime horse for the right person.
