Curtis

Grade Gelding

Born: 2020

Arrival: July 2025

Height: 15.0 hands

Halter trained; ground training to be assessed.

Curtis came to us as an owner surrender. He was quite underweight and in need of a good trim. Now that he’s had dental care, basic farrier work, and a healthy diet, he is beginning to thrive. Curtis has a wheat allergy (confirmed by lab tests) so his future family will need to be mindful of this.

Curtis is an inquisitive gelding who loves hanging out with his new friend Watson. He catches and leads well and stands nicely for the farrier.

Our trainers have not yet assessed Curtis’ level of training. He will be eligible for adoption once he has completed his ground skills training, which includes round pen work, standing for farrier, and trailer loading.

Curtis is named for the Curtis Formation, a reddish-blond sandstone layer in Utah. This geological feature appears in many prominent landmarks, including the top of Delicate Arch in Arches National Park.
