Curtis came to us as an owner surrender and had reportedly been used as a ranching horse. After an initial assessment ride, Curtis proved to be a rock star. Despite being a bit rusty, he was calm and willing and easily moved from a walk to trot to canter and back down.
Curtis is an inquisitive gelding who is great with round pen skills, duress, standing for the farrier, and trailer loading. He has a wheat allergy (confirmed by lab tests), so his future family will need to be mindful of this.
Curtis is named for the Curtis Formation, a reddish-blond sandstone layer in Utah. This geological feature appears in many prominent landmarks, including the top of Delicate Arch in Arches National Park.
