Thirteen-year-old Clancy, with his coppery coloring and long eyelashes, is a ranch favorite. He’s been at the ranch for more than seven years because of his severe fears. That is, until recently when Clancy successfully loaded in a trailer and enjoyed his first field trip off ranch property! Thanks to the tireless work of our volunteers, Clancy now halters with minor difficulty, loves grooming, lunges well both on and off lead line, lifts up all four feet and allows hooves to be cleaned and is confident with in-hand obstacles. Although he’s made huge improvements, Clancy still has challenges such as trusting people he is not familiar with, remaining calm when faced with new or “scary” situations, learning gait cues, and being head shy around his poll. He also hates spray bottles and the smell of fly spray. But this curious guy has come so far and deserves the right leader to help him find his potential.
