Clair

Adopted JUNE 2019

Thoroughbred Mare, 15.3 hands

Born: 2002

Arrival: July 2018

A majestic horse, Clair knows boundaries, loads well, and is easy to halter and do groundwork with.

She is currently being ridden in a western saddle with a snaffle bit and primarily understands direct pressure with a lot of contact with the bit. While her strides are smooth, fast and long (more English style), she needs help learning how to better control her rates of speed and stop more quickly. She’s not yet been ridden on a trail, only in a round pen and arena.

Clair also needs to learn how to pick up her back feet and stand quietly while tied. An intermediate or advanced rider would be the best fit for Clair so they can help her use her hindquarters more as she’s very front-end dependent. Clair would make a great English show prospect with just a bit of tune up by a dedicated owner!
