Friendly Chama was found running along a road with another horse in northern New Mexico. Neither horse was claimed by an owner, so they came to WNCR. With his sociable, gentle personality, Chama quickly won the hearts of our volunteers. During his time here, he has patiently helped teach our Horse Handling 101 sessions during orientation.
Chama is quite pleasant to handle on the ground, and he stands well for routine farrier care. He has completed his ground work, including round pen work, standing for the farrier, and trailer loading, and has now begun work under saddle.
