Anita is a kind jenny (female) donkey who came to us with a companion pony, Shonto, when their elderly owner passed away.
When Anita arrived at the rescue, she was very shy and shook with fear when having her feet handled. Over the past few months, with care and attention from our trainers and volunteers, Anita has come out of her shell. She is starting to greet visitors at the fence to ask for scratches, and she stood calmly for her first farrier visit.
Now that Anita has completed her ground training, which includes catching, leading, loading in a trailer, and standing for the farrier, she is eligible for adoption.
