Kendra’s equestrian skills are deeply rooted in her early family life of generational cattle ranchers and horse trainers. Her father, especially influential, guided her as a youngster showing and training horses from rodeo to show jumping. Kendra attended New Mexico State University where she received a degree in Agricultural Business and Economics and a minor in Marketing. While in college, Kendra rode for the NMSU Ranch Horse Team, traveling the South and Midwest regions, competing in working cow horse, trail, ranch horse pleasure and reining. The team ranked 3rd in the nation in 2012.
Kendra is self-employed and owner of Out of the Woods Horse Training and Riding Lessons and has successfully been training horses in the Edgewood area for four years. She specializes in rehabilitating rescue horses utilizing “horse time” and focusing on a natural approach to healing. She endeavors to make a difference with equine and humans in a positive and natural way.
Kendra's goals are to insure proper training and care for each and every equine, by assessment, follow-up, and volunteer training and guidance. Her time at WNCR will be to achieve the ultimate goal to have equines trained and ready for future, adoptive, forever homes. Her approach to rescues is inspiring and incredible to witness, and we're grateful to have her on our team.
