Kathleen Weinbrecht

Adoption and foster team lead

Kathleen began volunteering for the ranch in 2013 and was a member of the feed team for two years and co-lead on Resources for Horses for two years.  She has since adopted two horses from the ranch, Slick and Ruby, and has fostered three horses: Hitch, Kasi, and Liberty.

Her love of horses started with her first horse as a teen.  “They are my passion and have learned the most about patience and unconditional love through having and working with WNCR horses,” she says.  You'll often hear Kathleen say, "Horses are my gold."

Kathleen was also a volunteer EMT/Firefighter with the Edgewood Fire Department for 14 1/2 years and served the department as an officer for EMS several times.  She was an elementary school teacher for the last 10 years in Moriarty and is now a technology teacher for K-8th grade at a charter school in Albuquerque.  “But my love and passion is animals, especially horses,” says Kathleen.

Kathleen is a wonderfully energetic, compassionate, and positive person filled with equine wisdom.  Her love and dedication to the ranch is like a beacon to all who are around her.
