Blessed Are The VolunteersWitness the pure perfection of a human spirit everyday…come and see our volunteers who give all and ask for nothing… WNCR is committed to providing full service to a changing number of horses on premises. We also provide emergency visits and rescues from perpetrating homes and networking with the equine community to provide information and gather resources and funding. This is a full plate. Armed with our skilled, experienced volunteers and a heaping helping of certitude, we charge off to battle another day of healing wounds, delicate starvation rehabilitation, calming fears, walking, riding, training, loving, grooming and just talking to our horses. Our volunteers are involved in every aspect of caring for the horses, from cleaning stalls to grooming and exercise routines.
Since our inception, we have campaigned within our own equestrian community and network of friends to gather assistance and support in the form of volunteers. As part of the responsibility of directing the facility, it is incumbent upon us to continue to solicit and retain volunteers to assist in our mission. It takes an army of good folks to assure that we succeed on this mission. We are fortunate to be building that army at present. Volunteers are always needed and welcome! WNCR participates in, and hosts a number of functions designed to (1) bring awareness to our mission, (2) provide assistance to other rescue facilities, and (3) seek out resources, including volunteers and funding. A calendar of events is prepared and published each month in our volunteer newsletter. Volunteers are required to demonstrate, through our own certification process, their abilities to safely handle and work with our animals. Volunteers will work with a variety of horses with as many issues. Those who lack experience but are willing to learn are carefully and patiently trained by our intrepid staff of senior volunteers. WNCR sponsors an annual appreciation day
for the volunteers, but we know that is NOT the reason these folks work
so hard to make this ranch successful. Volunteers are the backbone of
the operation, and as such are treated with respect and admiration from
the WNCR staff (who are all volunteers themselves!). The WNCR staff is
striving to provide schedules and proper communication tools to assure
a stress-free, organized environment. We want each visit to be one of
pleasure for our volunteers, not drudgery. Walkin' N Circles Ranch P.O. Box 626 Edgewood, NM 87015 Telephone: (505) 286-0779 |
